The hourglass fit elastically forms to the narrow part of your wrist, keeping your hand comfortably positioned correctly inside the glove. A two piece cuff allows for extreme backwards wrist flexibility. The palm material wraps around the thumb to maintain a consistent contact for better stick feel through a pass or shot.
