Machine-Washable Makeup Brush
Spark Innovations partnered with Kleanr Cosmetics to develop a new generation of makeup brushes designed to simplify everyday brush care. The project introduced an innovative system built around removable brush heads and a reusable silicone washing bag, transforming an everyday beauty tool into a practical machine-washable product.
Removable Brush Head
A key engineering challenge was creating a brush head that remained secure during makeup application while allowing users to easily remove it before washing. Through numerous design iterations, the attachment mechanism was refined to provide reliable performance and clear tactile feedback during assembly, ensuring an intuitive user experience every time the brush was reconnected.
Purpose-Designed Silicone Washing Bag
The silicone washing bag was developed specifically to accommodate removable brush heads during a household washing cycle. Multiple concepts were explored to refine its shape, flexibility, capacity, and opening geometry before arriving at the final design.
The bag evolved from early circular concepts into Kleanr’s signature water droplet form, incorporating a flattened base that allows it to stand upright on a countertop for easier loading and unloading. Every detail was refined to balance functionality, durability, and a clean modern aesthetic.
