Storm Surge Concepts Designs

The criteria was to create visual concepts for a battery storage unit. This home battery unit stores power to charge household electronics like phones, laptops, and tablets. The project was to create industrial design concepts for the outside housing of the battery that visually fit in the character of a modern home. The concepts were inspired by household electronics like high end speakers, video game consoles, thermostats… The look needed to be clean, elemental, simple but sophisticated. Material treatment, trim and finish were integral in conveying the appearance. We developed mood boards and basic sketch concepts, then further developed the ideas using basic Solidworks CAD and renderings.
