Breast Cancer Awareness Aid
The Spark team was tasked with designing a breast cancer symptom awareness aid. The project required 3D CAD modeling and prototyping to verify all features, textures, and colours. Spark contributed project management efforts to organize all industry professionals; moulders, painters, videographers ,and a marketing team were coordinated and scheduled by our internal staff to create a comprehensive commercial style video for the client.
Gerety Awards
The 2024 Gerety Awards, a prestigious competition recognizing creative excellence across the advertising and marketing industry, honored McCann Canada with a Silver award for their work on The Stage Zero Collection for Love & Nudes. This groundbreaking initiative, designed to promote breast cancer awareness, was not only a testament to McCann Canada’s creative prowess but also highlighted the collaborative efforts of Spark in product development. This victory reflects the intersection of social impact and innovation, a combination that drove the success of this remarkable campaign.

Skin lumps and texture
Internal lumps
Skin surface discoloration
Three Main Symptoms
The client recognized that “Black women face a 40% higher death rate of breast cancer than non-racialized women. But nothing exists to help Black women identify the symptoms on darker skin tones until now…” (loveandnudes.com).
The three main visual symptoms, as identified by medical professionals are discolourations (bruising), skin texturing (“orange peel effect”), and various types of lumps.
Three Main Symptoms
Sparks team was tasked with visualizing the three main symptoms through 3D CAD texturing, material selection, colour application, and internal lump design.
Spark created several 3D Solidworks iterations for the skin texture before the final look was achieved.
The team also created comprehensive bruising patterns to illustrate the different colour variations and tones needed for the different skin tones. These documents were then passed on to the expert painters for final prototypes.
Several versions of lumps were designed and tested to mimic the characteristics of real cancer lumps. The team created 3D prints and tested them on cast silicone moulds.

Clipping on the Bras
The team was also tasked with creating a system to install the breast cancer symptom awareness aid on the bra. Industrial designers developed a unique clip system that easily installs the product onto existing bras.
